Accessibility
A website everyone can use.
Mission Partners Guatemala is committed to making our website accessible to people of all abilities, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, or magnification.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard referenced for websites under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
What we've done
- High-contrast, large, readable text throughout the site.
- A "Skip to main content" link and full keyboard navigation.
- Descriptions for every meaningful photo, and written figures for our charts.
- Photo slideshows that can be paused, and that stop moving for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
- Pages that still work when text is enlarged to 200% or viewed on a small phone.
- Clear labels for buttons and links, including links that open in a new tab.
Known limitations
- Our contact-list sign-up and PayPal giving are hosted by Google Forms and PayPal, whose accessibility we don't control.
- The downloadable AMICASI visit presentation (PDF) is image-based; the same photos and descriptions are on the blog post itself.
- The Venmo and Zelle QR codes are images; the handles and email to use are written beside them.
